"I think they should have looked into this a bit more and made more plans to deal with a bit of snow."
A commuter expressed his feelings to Vancouver Sun; after the snow and ice build up causing Canada Line failure over the freezing cold weather the past few days.
The first thing that came into my mind was the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25) awaiting the arrival of the groom; some ready with oil in their lamps and others caught by surprise.
How prepared are you for life's little/mega surprises?
How did you handle the last one?
Who did you seek help from?
What have you learnt from the experience?
Last but not least, how do we prepare ourselves for eternity?
How certain/ready are we about entry into God's Kingdom after our life on earth has come to an end?

If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die." (I Cor 15:32)
ReplyDeleteTo be ready for eternity, we need to understand its conception and the assurance of Salvation after our life on earth is over.
Once again, it is built on our intimacy with our Lord and our Faith in Christ through His Words.

Dear ????
ReplyDeleteUncle Roy shared with us yesterday the reading of Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11; at Dr David Lam's memorial service.
My eyes again were caught on:
"He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Ecclesiastes 3:11
For those who believes, the Lord has already prepared eternity for us, even before our birth.
All that is required of us is to "tap" into His Grace and follow the direction of the Holy Spirit to arrive safely in the predestined designation.

Hi All,
ReplyDeleteUncle Roy shared with us the reading of Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11.
Somehow in my mind, it seemed I have heard it just a night before. The words are still ringing in my ears. It was a song and the words were taken from the book of Ecclesiastes !!!
