" I will tell of the kindness of the Lord,
...according to all the Lord has done,
...according to His compassion and many kindness." Isaiah 63:7
At the last session of BSF this year, our co-ordinator chose to share this passage from the book of Isaiah which we have been studying for the entire year.
When I first looked at it, I thought of the familiar reminder that most of us addressed as
"count your blessings, name them one by one".
However, on second thought, I realized that there is a difference between the two.
To count our blessings in front of the Lord keeps us joyful with a contented heart of thanksgiving.
To tell of the kindness of the Lord in front of others is a way to spread the Gospel and witness to others how He has changed lives.
Until my relationship with the Lord has been transformed from deep down inside, it is not possible for me to speak of Him using my own words.
It requires the Holy Spirit to dwell within to allow me to speak His Words in Truth and humility.
When I looked back at the year past, I remembered His kindness:
- I was suffering from a broken relationship.... He healed and answered my prayers so that I was able to bridge the gap through His love.
- I learnt forgiveness .... through a difficult situation, relying on Him for strength and marvelled at His "unconditional" love.
- I was taught to let go.... of anxiety and worries, trusting in His Faithfulness.
Although there is still a long, long way for the Potter to mould me into His likeness, it gives me joy and assurance of His love, as I tell of his kindness.
How has the Lord expressed His Kindness to you lately?
Will you tell?
