I stumbled....

As I was working away on my BSF homework, I stumbled .........
over one paragraph of the notes:

There are some strategic moments in the lives of leaders and nations in which the decisions they make cast a long shadow over the future of that leader, nation, and people in that realm.

And the following challenge question:

"When we are faced with making choices, will we believe what God says even if it means changing what we have previously thought?"

What is your answer? How do you normally base your choices and decisions on?

Jesus took the twelve aside and told them, "We are going up to Jerusalem......" (Luke 18:31)

Looks like God's Plan, God's Will is only disclosed to those who follow Him closely.
This led me to ask myself..... how close am I to our Lord and Saviour?
When the Lord is ready to disclose His Will to me, how receptive am I?

How should I pray for myself and others to draw closer to Christ and to be more sensitive to His commands?

  1. For some strange reason, I related your message right away to SMSL, their decision of the sign up membership list and the long term effect over those who left the church. I failed to see people's mind ever changing, even though some of God's signs were very obvious.

However, it is not for me to judge. The Lord is the overseer of all things and will have His Way of dealing with ALL matters.

I found consolation in Psalm 23:4,

    "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

However difficult the journey, however unpleasant the "long shadow", however sad the separation, the Lord will be there for me. He will be there to protect and comfort me, until my earthly journey is completed.

  2. Dear Ex,

During the service on Sunday, somehow I got into thinking about how God would look at our situation at SMSL.

Would His angle be different from ours?

Could SMSL be God's training ground for us to endure hardship and handle crisis so that our Faith may flourish?

"If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?" (Matt 6:46)

"But I tell you; love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." (Matt 6:44)

Let us be thankful for the opportunity to be discipled into "a channel of His peace".
