Recently I have a Chit-chat with my HK friend , she is a christain and mention something that I would like to share with . There was a sermon talking about a wholehearted living , we need 4 criteria to llive life to the fullest, they are :
1) physical health
2) emotional health
3) mental clarity
4) serving a meaning beyond self = spirituality
Do you agree with that ? Do we have all the above or none of the above ? Please share...........

We all desire to have good physical health, stable emotional health, alert mind and a heart to serve. If we have all of the above, it is truly a blessing from God. If we miss some of the above, does it mean we cannot live a life to the fullest?
ReplyDeleteMany people born with physical disability, developed mental problem early in their lives, suffered emotional trauma in accident, will they ever be living a life to the fullest?
Jesus said, "I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly" (John 10:10b). To live a life to the fullest should not depend on our present circumstances. It all depend on our relationship with Jesus. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life".
To live a life to the fullest is to live a life according to His purpose, not my own purpose. If we try to live a life based on what we like, we will never satisfy. We always find something lacking. We can only live a life to the fullest if we are in Christ and seek to live in accordance with His purpose.
How do we know His purpose? Do you know His purpose in your life? Love to hear what you think.
Walter
Recollecting my experience in:
ReplyDelete1. Physical health: until the time I discovered the lump on my neck and eventually led to thyroid surgery, I was blessed with great health.
2. Emotional health: good until hit by depression when my world was turned upside down.
3. Mentally, clarity after illness but helpless otherwise.
4. Spirituality, a journey with Christ like a highway with its ups and downs. During my illness, God was very far away. Because my own sinful nature was magnified, I felt the separation from our Lord almost unbearable. Yet He did not leave or abandon me. With the help of loving angels (who prayed and supported me), I was able to "Return to Him and He returned to me." (Mal 3:7).
Depending on one's definition of fullness of life, I tend to agree with Walter that it can be achieved despite deficiencies in physical and mental health. A lot of times God made use of our weakness to show forth His Strength... ".. my power is made perfect in weakness." (II Corinthians 12:9)
A life lived to the fullest is a gift of God, to be used to His Glory!!
Do you agree?
