My dream Church

I am so impressed with the fellowship I experienced at the Mayne Island that I thought I should share the following.

Although the weather might not cooperate at times, everyone is in a high spirit.  I feel the closeness in spite of the fact that we are a group of people who are attending different Churches.  Looking back, I did not think that is an issue until Ping brought it up at the sharing and ask everyone what their vision of the dream Church would be.
Then Peter says something about how frustrating it is for him to figure out on Saturday night what Church to go to every Sunday.  Then I realized that we are not attending the same church.

Apart from that reminder, I can feel that we are truly one in the spirit and in the Lord.  Over these two nights at the Island, we have gone through the joy of working together, the true friendship of knowing each other for so long, the happiness of discovering about each other, the trust and encouragement we have for each other, the caring and concern for the future of each of us.

I have never experienced such a togetherness in any retreat which gives me a feeling of what is written in Matthew 17 when Peter asked Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters...........

The Mayne Island retreat lets me realize what constitutes a good Christian fellowship. As reminded by Matthew 17 and other passages in the Bible, it is also important to go down the mountain and spread the Word of God.  Therefore those two qualities, fellowship and evangelism would definitely be a must in my dream church.

What about you?  What other qualities do you want to see in your dream church?
