Trigger Finger

Ever since Monday night, I have been suffering from a trigger finger on my left hand middle finger.  This was not the first for me, rather something that I have learnt to cope with since its first occurrence three years ago.  Usually with a little tolerance and massage in warm water, I always managed to straighten "it" out within an hour.  However, I have waited .....and waited .....and waited since Monday night but the condition only worsened.  Even after I consulted my family doctor on Wednesday morning, awaiting an appointment with the specialist, there was absolutely no sign of recovery.  Apart from the tolerable pain level, there was great inconvenience with driving, washing dishes, weight lifting exercises, e-mailing, playing piano; and carrying groceries or putting up my hair.  For the very first time in my life, I marvelled at God's creation of middle fingers. At my prayer time yesterday morning, I thought about my trigger finger.  Remembering Stella's favourite verse and Teresa's personal testimony of sharing that same verse, I started to write down my prayer in thanksgiving for my trigger finger:
- that it happened in my left hand middle finger rather than my right hand;
- that the finger was not fractured, but only "stuck".
- that though it was inconvenient for house work, it was still adaptable and workable to some extent.
- that I enjoyed peace in the whole process, no anxiety... even when I have not yet heard from the specialist for an appointment.
-
that I was blessed with many friends (church, line dance and exercise classes), who love and care a lot for me.
- that the Lord gave me Stella's favourite verse, "Give thanks in ALL circumstances."  I Thess 5:8

After the moment of thanksgiving prayer, I felt even more relieved, knowing that I can trust the Lord with all my heart and allow Him to run my life in accordance with His Will.  I went about my daily chores without any more thoughts about my trigger finger.

Yesterday afternoon I went to my hairdresser for a hair cut.  In a great hurry to leave after it was finished, I forgot that my left hand was still hanging onto one arm of my chair and that the middle finger was not "capable" of letting go on its own.  After one extremely painful moment, I saw my trigger finger "straightened".  Because it was totally unanticipated, I had no way to escape or time to withdraw or scream.  Just like that, at the blink of an eye, He intervened, He healed!!!

"Isn't He wonderful? Isn't He wonderful? Isn't Jesus my Lord wonderful?" as the song goes....

PRAISE HIM!!!!!!!
