"After Job had prayed for his friends,
the Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had before." (Job 42:10)
How many of you noticed this Bible verse while reading through the suffering of Job?
Does it not sound like a wonderful deal? An easy way to receive blessings from above?
Is our Lord's reward system to his human creation too worldly?
Is Albert's famous quotation of 市儈 in line with this Bible teaching?
When I thought it through, I realized it was a reflection on:
- The way Job loved the Lord, even through his suffering.
- The way Job loved his friends, another one of the greatest commandment taught by Jesus.
- Through prayers for his friends, how Job connected himself to the Almighty in a most personal way.
- How Job humbled himself before the Lord, seeking His advice and direction in the middle of his own suffering.
- Instead of turning to others for help, how Job seeked help from the Lord.
- How Job demonstrated his trust towards our Creator, giving room for Him to act.
As a result, the Lord honoured him with blessings. Eyes were opened to the fact that "everything is possible with the Lord" and how the Lord loves and rewards those who love Him.
