"If my people, who are called by my name,
will humble themselves
and pray
and seek my face
and turn from their wicked ways,
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin
and will heal their land." (
Thanks to Mimi, I am reminded of this favourite verse.
As I was putting it down in writing, I noticed the many "conditions" of prayers and the Lord's wonderful promises as a result. This would be the perfect verse for me this Lent.
Lent this year starts on March 6 to April 10. I am curious to find out whether Mimi will carry on her Lent "tradition" like previous years. As for the Church(s) of Good Shepherd, our theme this year is "Fellowship in Prayer" based on 9 expository preaching from the sixth weeks after Epiphany to end of Lent. A revival conference in English (speaker Dr Dennis Ngien from Toronto) will be held this weekend. For those wishing to attend or to support us in private or public prayers, please e-mail me.

What A ....... Coincidence?
ReplyDeleteAs I was praying through the 24 hour prayer chain yesterday (for our revival conference) following the meditation material sent to us, I was "very shocked" to discover that the Bible text they used was identical to yours ........
II Chronicles 7:11-22
I am sure that neither Mimi nor you could have planned this more precisely!!! Out of the entire Bible, why pick the same verse?
On second thought, why not?
Am I forgetting that "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."? (Matt 19:26)
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." (Jeremiah 1:5)
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (Jeremiah 29:11)
I was also very happy to read onto the next verse in this passage:
"Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place."
(II Chronicles 7:15)
Lord, teach me how to pray....
